I’m Meg Geale, a Canadian-Swedish landscape painter based in Nacka, just outside Stockholm.

My work is rooted in the waters and shorelines of the places I call home.

I grew up on the shores of Georgian Bay in Canada: pink granite rising from the water, windswept pines, and northern skies that are never quite still. It’s a landscape that gets into you early and never really leaves.

When I moved to Sweden, I found my home away from home. The Stockholm Archipelago shares many of the same qualities—ancient bedrock, weather-shaped trees, and light that moves constantly across open water. Two places on opposite sides of the world, built from the same bones.

Working from my waterfront home studio in Nacka, I paint with colour, texture, and movement to capture not just how these landscapes look, but how they feel—expansive, grounding, and alive.

I am largely self-taught, with guidance from French painter Marie-Claude Delcourt, whose influence shaped how I see colour, texture, and light. My work has been exhibited in Stockholm and Uppsala and featured in New York City.

I hope my paintings invite viewers to reconnect with something wild, open, and enduring—whether they know these shorelines intimately or are encountering them for the first time.
